What is FOLOT?
FOLOT is the Art lamp Series designed by LUMOSAPIENS.
‘Folot’ is derived from an intentional misspelling of the word ‘Float’. The product is designed in a way where the light seems to float lightly above the surface it is placed on, with a base that is offsetted(pushed) in and a sleek top.

The Forest Illustration series is a pen & ink based series focused around fantastical interpretations of natural patterns of my environment. I believe these illustrations bring to light nuances in the natural world that are often in the background; such as the layering of trees, arrangement of leaves and the guilds of different species that occur in the wild.

Mind: Mumma, what do you see when you look at your paintings?
Mumma: I see stories. I see colour. I see little worlds that I have imagined and brought to life.
Heart: And when I look at them, I feel something I cannot quite explain.
Soul: You feel the poetry in them.
Mind: But how do we make someone else feel what we feel?
Mumma: Perhaps you don't just have to look at the art.
Heart: You have to feel it.
Mind: Through light?
Mumma: Through light.
Mind: Through light?Then let us bring together the precision of lighting design with the poetry of art.
Soul: So that Mumma's paintings can be felt, not just seen.
Mumma: And why should it stop with my paintings?
Heart: It shouldn't.
Mumma: Every artist puts a part of themselves into what they create.
Soul: Then every artist deserves a way for that feeling to reach someone else.

The FOLOT art lamp series is designed and envisioned by Hrushikesh Shah. He had completed Bachelors of Architecture from CEPT, India and Masters of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, United States. During his time at Carnegie Mellon he specialised in Digital Fabrication, Computational Design and Sustainable design. He has an work experience in architecture and design of above 4 years in India and USA. During his time in the US, he studied lighting design applying it to practice in the architectural offices he worked at. On weekends he worked on lighting design ideas and returning back to India launched LUMOSAPIENS, a Lighting design company with the aim to deliver brilliant lighting experiences to the world.
